5 New Reveals in Boruto Chapter 84

Hey guys! Chapter 84 of Boruto was just released a couple of days ago, and we learn more about what Boruto has endured over the past three years. It seems a new threat is upon the Leaf, and only the young Uzumaki is aware of it. So today, I thought we’d talk about the 5 new Reveals in Boruto from this month’s chapter. Now, let’s dive into it!

1. Boruto’s Flying Raijin Jutsu

1 on 5 New Reveals in Boruto Flying Raijin Jutsu

At the beginning of the chapter, we see Boruto use his grandpa’s Flying Raijin technique. That is a teleportation jutsu that lets the user visit any marked location. Unlike Minato, who used Kunai knives to mark locations, Boruto uses small pins to teleport to his desired locations.

Boruto performs the jutsu well but notes that he’s not as good as his grandpa. He needs a few seconds to concentrate in order to reach the marked location. But still, Boruto can enter a new dimension with this technique, as seen when he enters Code’s realm.

Boruto also uses this move in combat. When an opponent is about to strike him, Boruto will teleport away to a nearby, marked location. These instances remind me of the Amenotejikara jutsu that Sasuke uses with his Rinnegan. It’s always good to see a student follow in his master’s footsteps.

After reading this chapter, I wonder who taught him this technique. Nobody alive can use this jutsu. Even his new teacher, whom we will talk about shortly, shouldn’t know how to use this technique. Still, the fact that Boruto was able to add the Flying Raijin jutsu to his arsenal is quite impressive.

2. Sasuke gets bitten by a Claw Grime

2 on 5 New Reveals in Boruto. Sasuke gets bitten by a Claw Grime

Similar to the Leaf Ninja we saw in a previous chapter. Sasuke has also received a bite from a claw grime and turned into a tree. He’s still alive, but in a coma-like state. With his chakra history stored and able to be used by the Ten-Tails, it has access to his powers, like the Rinnegan and Chidori

It’s hard to believe that a shinobi as powerful as Sasuke could end up in this state. I would’ve thought he’d play an important role in Part 2 of Boruto. But it makes sense that the two most powerful shinobi in history are MIA. Since it’s time for Boruto’s generation to step up and protect the Leaf village.

3. Koji has teamed up with Boruto

3 on 5 New Reveals in Boruto. Koji becomes Boruto's teacher.

Sometime over the past three years, Koji has taken it upon himself to team up with Boruto and become his teacher. Most likely occurring during the absence of Sasuke. Koji is the clone of Sannin Jiraiya, also known as Naruto’s godfather. He definitely taught Boruto the new jutsu he’s learned after the time-skip, including senjutsu and a toad summoning contract.

Still, I question Koji’s real motives, as he never revealed them in Part 1 of the anime when he fought Jigen. Perhaps being Jiraiya’s clone, he’s automatically inclined to do the right thing. I guess we’ll have to wait and see.

4. The Ten-Tails have gained an altered Ego

4 on 5 New Reveals in Boruto. The Ten Tails has an alter Ego.

Whatever Code did to modify the Ten-Tails, it seems to have been for the worse. A new alter ego of the Ten Tails has emerged from his actions. The alter ego hosts several bodies, and they can access any chakra that the Shinju has absorbed, like Sasuke Uchiha. Each body of the ego also resembles a victim absorbed by a Claw Grime tree.

But their overall objective still seems to be the same: to eat Boruto so that the Ten-Tails can become a divine tree.

5 New Reveals in Boruto. 6 Paths of Pain.

Interestingly, each body of the Ten-Tail Ego specializes in a specific type of jutsu. This set-up reminds me of the Six Paths of Pain arc in Naruto. Even more, since they all have a Rinnegan. We will have to wait until a few more chapters pass. To learn more about what each body of the ego can perform and how powerful they are.

If I had to guess what Code did to modify the Shinju, I’d say he merged part of his DNA with it. Since one of the alter ego’s avatars can teleport using Code’s claw marks, it wouldn’t use this jutsu unless it absorbed his chakra. The Ten-Tails in Naruto were just an animal that wreaked havoc. It makes sense why Boruto is concerned about a Ten-Tails that’s intelligent.

5. Kawaki knows Sarada is immune to Omnipotence

Final truth on 5 New Reveals in Boruto. Kawaki knows Sarada is immune to Omnipotence

In this chapter, it’s clear that Sarada is not afraid of Kawaki. She’s made it quite clear to let Kawaki know she’s immune to omnipotence and will support Boruto any chance she gets. You can see how agitated Kawaki gets when Sarada calls him an Otsutsuki like Boruto. This jab is a warning to Kawaki, reminding him who the true outsider is.

Again, Kawaki is left speechless when Sarada suggests to Shikamaru that the leaf should support Boruto since he knows what Code is up to.  Shikamaru will accept Sarada’s proposal since it benefits the Leaf Village, and this will anger Kawaki even more.

I’m surprised that Kawaki hasn’t opted to kill Sarada, since she’s a threat to his real identity. But seeing that no one would believe her, I guess he would look more suspicious if he killed the young Uchiha. Still, it’s only a matter of time before the Leaf Village learns the truth.

What did you think of Chapter 84?

So overall, those were my 5 new Reveals in Boruto Chapter 84.  Koji and Boruto’s upcoming battle with the alter ego will be intense, considering their help is limited. Hopefully, Sarada can get the Leaf on board to help them out. But we’ll have to wait and see.
