The Pokémon anime started back in 1997.  With Ash on his 10th birthday waking up late to find no other starter Pokémon left but Pikachu. After a few ups and downs in the pilot episode we see a strong bond form between the two. From there the journey to become a Pokémon Master begins and what a journey it has been! After several adventures, meeting hundreds of different types of Pokémon and many upsets Ash & Pikachu finally reach the promise land to become the Pokémon World Champion.

Final match to become Pokémon World Champion!

Many of my millennial generation watched the latest episode (132) of Pokémon Journeys proudly. As Ash’s Pikachu beats Leon’s Charizard in a thrilling battle to become the Pokémon World Champion. The episode has tonnes of nostalgia with all of Ash’s old friends and Pokémon over the years watching the fight proudly. The anime has managed to make a fairy tale ending for the duo.

What’s next for the Pokémon anime?

With all the hype around the latest episode many fans are wondering about the young Pokémon Master’s future. Ash finally wins a major tournament to become world champion. How do you top that?  Many fans think Goh will replace Ash in the next series, but nothing is confirmed yet.

Final thoughts on the new anime series

While it would be sad to no longer see Ash and Pikachu, I think it’s a good idea. Pokémon has proven that it can stand the test of time. Having a new protagonist can attract a younger audience to follow the anime as they would have less content to catch up on.  It’ll be interesting to see what the anime has planned for the next series (based on the Paldea region) but I guess we’ll find out in the coming weeks. Anyways guys that wraps it up for today thank you so much for reading. AJ is out of here!
