The latest Boruto chapter was released a couple of days ago, and we get a bunch of surprises that remind me of Part 1 of Naruto. A lot is set up for Part 2 of the anime. As we enter a more serious story. But before we get into theories, here is a quick recap of Boruto Chapter 80.

Eida Omnipotence on Boruto Chapter 80 Recap

We pick up right where we left off last month. Kawaki grabs Eida by the collar and demands that she inform the Leaf forces that Naruto was killed at the hands of Boruto. Eida obeys and informs the Leaf Village. Mitsuki rushes to kill Boruto after hearing the news. Leaving Sarada still confused over what is going on.

Sarada and Sumire Immunity Recap on Boruto Chapter 80

Sasuke arrives at Sarada’s location and appears to be under Eida’s omnipotence, believing Boruto did kill Naruto and Hinata. Just then, Sumire contacts Sarada via telepathy. She asks the young Uchiha if she’s of sound mind. Sumire confirms my guess in the last chapter, stating she and Sarada are immune to omnipotence, similar to how the Kunoichi were immune to Sumire’s charm. Sumire suggests they find a way to help Boruto, as they are the only ones who can.

Momoshiki Recap on Boruto Chapter 80

Meanwhile, Boruto is fleeing from the village but is caught after being hunted down by the Ino-Shika-Cho trio. An angry Shikadai berates Boruto for killing the Hokage after everything Naruto has done for him. Momoshiki taunts Boruto, saying he is in a corner and has no choice but to kill his friends. Momoshiki uses this as an opportunity to offer his services to Boruto so that he can take over the young Shiniobi’s body.

Sarada Mangeykyo Sharingan Recap on Boruto Chapter 80

Back at Sarada’s location, we see the most surprising moment of this chapter. Sarada, frustrated, decides to tell her dad the truth: Boruto is not responsible for the death of Naruto. Sasuke initially does not believe his daughter. Sarada makes one last plea for her father to help Boruto. At this moment, Sarada activates her Mangeykyo Sharingan for the first time.

Sasuke realized that Sarada could not activate the Mangeykyo without suffering a terrible loss. So he decides to take a chance and comply with his daughter’s request.

Sasuke Escapes Recap on Boruto Chapter 80

Back at Boruto’s location, Momoshiki continues to convince Boruto to give up and let him take over his body. Before this progresses any further, Sasuke grabs Boruto and flees from the grasp of Ino-Shika-Cho. Eida, seeing this via Senreigan, decides to catch up with the two wanted criminals. Taking her brother Daemon with her and telling Kawaki to head back to the village without them.

Taking a break from their escape, Sasuke and Boruto begin to chat. Sasuke questions all his memories, like why Boruto had his headband when he gave it to Kawaki. As well as why Momoshiki is possessing Boruto when he should be with Kawaki. Ultimately, not knowing what to believe in, Sasuke decides to trust his daughter. Momoshiki is frustrated at this turn of events, to say the least.

Reflection of Kawaki's life Recap on Boruto Chapter 80

The duo noticed that Eida had arrived on the scene with her little brother, Daemon. She apologizes for the recent events that happened to Boruto, as she cannot control her powers. Boruto admits that while he is suffering inside. He is finally able to understand how Kawaki has felt his entire life. Being alone means not having any friends or family to rely on. Sasuke chimes in, saying Naruto also had nothing, and if Boruto was his son, it was time for him to step up to prove his innocence.

WIll of fire to be a Ninja Recap on Boruto Chapter 80

Boruto, motivated by the words of Sasuke, decides to do as his father did and train to become stronger. So he can finally beat some sense into his stubborn friend Kawaki, whom he views as his brother. Eida, touched by Boruto’s resolve, promises she will not help the leaf village hunt him down. Eida also promises to let Sarada know that Sasuke and Boruto are safe.

As the chapter closes, we see Code and Kawaki vowing to kill Boruto at all costs. So overall, it was an excellent chapter with plenty of plot twists that surprised me. Here are my biggest questions from this month’s issue.

1. What powers does Sarada’s Mangeykyo Sharingan hold?

The biggest shock of this chapter. Sarada gained the rare Mangeykyou Sharingan at 12 years old. This was younger than her father and uncle, who both received the ability as teenagers. I am curious to see what jutsu she gets with this power-up. Also, what her Susanoo will look like. The writers must find a creative way to overcome Sarada’s blindness since she does not have a sibling. She also, cannot use her father as a donor since he only has one Sharingan.

2. What are Sarada and Sumire’s plans for Kawaki?

My theory from the last chapter was true: both Sumire and Sarada are immune to Eida’s omnipotence. Given the recent events, it’s unlikely that the two Kunoichi will pretend to be under Eida’s Shinjutsu. I suspect the girls will plan to expose Kawaki for what he is. Perhaps Sarada’s Mangeykyo Sharingan will have a jutsu capable of canceling out Eida’s omnipotence. I guess we’ll have to wait and see.

3. What role will Code have in Part 2?

Omnipotence forced Boruto and Kawaki to swap lives. It is safe to think that Code has a new hatred for Boruto, whom he believes was raised to become Isshiki’s vessel before the Otsutsuki was betrayed and killed. We’re so focused on the fight between Kawaki and Boruto. But we can’t forget about Code, as he intends to destroy the Leaf and all those who betrayed Isshiki. Perhaps Code will become the common enemy that forces the two brothers to work together.

4. Is Eida a foe or an ally?

While Eida apologizes for unintentionally using Omnipotence on Boruto. We still do not know what her plans are for the future. It’s likely that she still hopes to have a relationship with Kawaki and reside in the Leaf Village. Fans have also speculated that Eida may fall in love with Boruto after the time skip. I guess we will have to wait and see what happens. It will be interesting to see which side she takes when the time comes for Kawaki and Boruto to fight.

5. Will Sasuke become a wanted criminal once again?

Sasuke was already walking on thin ice after all the horrible things he did during the 4th Great Ninja War. It is safe to say that many nations cannot forgive him for his past actions. Now that he is helping a wanted fugitive escape, Sasuke will appear on the wanted list again. It’s unlikely that the Leaf will forgive him a second time, especially since Naruto is MIA.

6. What Jutsu will Boruto learn?

Without a doubt, Boruto will need to train for several years before he returns to the Leaf Village. Sasuke will have to teach his apprentice several different types of jutsu. Hopefully, we can see the young Uzumaki invent a lighting-infused Rasengan. I’m also curious to see what powers Boruto’s Jogan eye holds. He can activate this power instantly when we move forward to Part II of the anime.

What will we see in Part 2?

So overall, there is the recap on Boruto Chapter 80. I think Boruto handled the situation very well. The manga will be taking a break for a while. Most likely due to the time skip that will occur. I can’t wait to see how the recent events of this chapter affect the characters over time. Many will be eyeing Boruto for revenge over the death of Naruto.
